What is a detox regimen?

A detox should help the body to get rid of various pollutants and toxins. These include, for example, environmental toxins, heavy metals, and so-called slags (metabolic waste). A specific form of nutrition is used during the detox cure. The aim of detoxing is to feel healthier, to be able to lose weight more efficiently and to alleviate stress and symptoms of various chronic diseases like arthritis, diabetes, cancer, etc.

How does the detox work?

Processed foods and luxury foods of any kind are avoided during the detoxification cure. Only natural foods and liquids are on the menu. Care is taken to ensure that these foods support the body in detoxifying. The good thing: There is not just one detoxification cure – theoretically, everyone can design and implement a suitable concept for themselves. For example, various plans such as juice fasting are popular.

Why should I go on a detox at all?

The body has its well-functioning detoxification organs: the kidneys, lungs, intestines, liver, and skin working day after day to rid ourselves of toxins. However, supporters of detoxification cures assume that we should support the body in detoxifying.

Benefits of the detox

Depending on which foods are avoided, well-being can still be increased through a detox. Detoxing can have the following advantages:

  • Avoid stimulants such as alcohol, coffee and nicotine relieves stress and nervousness and can counteract sleep disorders. Avoiding processed foods can also help to change general eating behaviour in the long term. Also, by doing without, the intake of fattening foods such as sugar and salt is automatically reduced, which can make it easier to lose weight.
  • You get used to regional and seasonal foods and their natural taste. The digestion also benefits – symptoms such as a feeling of fullness or heartburn often subside because of the changed diet.
  • Better digestion also often ensures that we have more energy and less feeling of tiredness.

How can I best detox?

We have put together a plan for a detox over seven days. It is best to start preparing for detox the day before the cure by focusing on light and small meals, such as vegetable soups and cereal porridge.

How does the detox plan work?

Our detox plan contains foods that are less acidic and thus help to restore the body’s acid-base balance, as alkaline fasting. The recipes are easy to implement and can be perfectly integrated into everyday life.

Also, we have special tips that support cleansing from the inside and pamper the body. Make sure you drink enough: Still water and herbal tea are allowed!

Detox Plan Day 1:

Enjoy

  • In the morning: Amaranth base muesli (health food store): 5 tbsp with 150 ml soy milk and fruit.
  • Lunch: Season the carrot salad made from 3 grated carrots with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, the juice of 1/2 lemon, salt, pepper, and parsley
  • In the evening: jacket potatoes with olive cream (ready-made product in the health food store)

Care for

  • After work: 30 minutes of light exercise in the fresh air, e.g. B. cycling, a brisk walk in the forest or working in the garden. By breathing deeper outdoors, we supply the lungs with more oxygen, which promotes detoxification.

Detox Plan Day 2:

Enjoy

  • In the morning: yoghurt with wild berries: mix 150 g natural yoghurt (1.5%) with 200 g berries and 5 chopped almonds
  • Lunch: Jacket potatoes with olive cream (ready-made product in the health food store)
  • In the evening: Alkaline broth: 1 bunch of soup greens, 2 potatoes, 1 onion, diced, simmer in 1.5 l water for 15 minutes, add chives.
  • Fit-Drink: Banana Soymilk Puree 150 ml of soy milk with 1 banana

Care for

  • In the afternoon: Abdominal massage: Circling the navel with the palm of your hand in a clockwise direction with light pressure, for 5 minutes, in larger and smaller circles – improves blood circulation in the gastrointestinal tract.

Clean

  • 3 times a day: Consume 1 tablespoon of artichoke juice before each meal to boost liver cleansing. Tastes bitter, but it helps!

Detox Plan Day 3:

Enjoy

  • In the morning: yoghurt with wild berries
  • Lunch: Season the carrot salad made from 3 grated carrots with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, the juice of 1/2 lemon, salt, pepper, and parsley
  • In the evening: jacket potatoes with olive cream 
  • Fit drink: banana soy milk

Care for

  • Hula hoop dry run: Stand slightly straddled, put your hands on your waist. Then make large circular movements with your hips like with a hula hoop, 20 times to the left, 20 times to the right – loosens and gets your digestion going.

Clean

  • Yoga flank breathing (choose the time of day yourself): Stand slightly straddled, rest your left hand on your left thigh, inhale deeply and while exhaling, tilt your upper body to the left, right arm is brought straight up. When inhaling, return to the starting position. Page change. 10 times per side.

Detox Plan Day 4:

Enjoy

  • In the morning: colourful fruit salad made from 1 handful of grapes, 1 peach, 1 banana
  • Lunch: alkaline broth
  • In the evening: 1 slice of whole-grain bread with avocado cream (health food store)

Care for

  • Tighten your thighs by holding in a crouch (choose the timing yourself). Do a slight squat, straighten your back, arms forward, and slowly count to 10 before straightening your legs again. Repeat 10 times.

Clean

  • 30 min before lunch: Dissolve 1 teaspoon of healing earth (drugstore) in 1 glass of boiled water, drink in small sips – binds stomach acid and prevents heartburn.

Detox Plan Day 5:

Enjoy

  • In the morning: amaranth muesli
  • Lunch: carrot salad
  • In the evening: alkaline broth
  • Fit drink: apple and pear juice

Care for

  • In the morning in bed: while lying down, take a quick air bike ride for 5 minutes. Makes you wake up better than coffee!

Clean

  • Detox Diary: Write What You Want to Get Rid of Weight? Bad-minded thoughts? Then write down what you want to win, e.g. B. Energy and confidence.

Detox Plan Day 6:

Enjoy

  • In the morning: yoghurt with wild berries
  • Lunch: jacket potatoes with olive cream
  • In the evening: alkaline broth
  • Fit drink: banana soy milk

Care for

  • Mornings: Work up a sweat to cleanse the skin – that works great with 5 minutes of jumping rope. Then take a cold shower.

Clean

  • In the evening: come to rest. Turn off your cell phone, computer, radio, and TV, ask the family for a quarter of an hour off. Sit there, be silent, reflect.

Detox Plan Day 7:

Enjoy

  • In the morning: amaranth muesli
  • Lunch: carrot salad
  • In the evening: jacket potatoes with olive cream
  • Fit drink: apple and pear juice

Care for

  • Mornings: Dive in and swim briskly for 30 minutes.
  • Afternoon: Eyecare with 20-30 minutes of power napping, we detoxify best during sleep.

Clean

  • Before a nap: a liver compress activates digestion. Place a warm, damp towel on the upper abdomen, place a dry cloth over it – rest for 20 minutes.
